What are residential units?

Residential units are independent and self-contained units within a building that can be used for residential purposes. A residential unit can be an apartment, an apartment, a house or another spatially separated living space. Each residential unit usually has its own sleeping, cooking and sanitary areas as well as separate entrances. The number of residential units in a building is an important factor in property valuation, determining living space and other building and planning law considerations.
