What is modernization?
Modernization refers to comprehensive measures to improve buildings or apartments that go beyond mere maintenance. Structural changes are often made in order to raise the standard of living, improve energy efficiency or modernize the technical equipment. Modernization measures can include, for example, the installation of a new heating system, the replacement of windows or the redesign of rooms.
Difference to"renovation":
Renovation, on the other hand, refers to maintenance measures aimed at preserving existing substance without making fundamental structural changes. This usually includes work such as painting walls, replacing floor coverings or repairing minor damage. In contrast to modernization, renovation aims to maintain or refresh the original condition without significantly changing the overall appearance of the building.
